WaterAid Flyfishers lands a whopping £14,500 for WaterAid
WaterAid’s coffers filled as quickly as the landing nets at the fourth Scottish WaterAid Fly Fishing Challenge on 27 June 2008.
Robin Lambert (Scottish Water) and Gordon Inglis (Business Stream), event co-ordinators worked with key account customers; suppliers and contractors to organise the competition at the Lake of Menteith for a fourth year. Many thanks to our main sponsors and supporters of the event:-

It was perfect fishing conditions, overcast skies, a slight breeze and plenty of rising fish all over the lake. The 52 fishermen taking part caught 153 fish between them, with a total weight of 351lb.4oz. Robin was delighted with the results. He said: "The fish were typical Lake of Menteith trout; full finned and fighting fit thus giving everyone a great days fishing.”
The competition was followed by a presentation meal at the Forth Inn in Aberfoyle. WaterAid Regional Manager Josephine McLaughlin and Gordon Inglis on behalf of Business Stream presented the WaterAid Fly Fishing Challenge Shield to Morrison Flyfishers and the Best Individual Prize to Chris Evans from Anglian Water.
Everyone who attended the presentation meal also enjoyed the evening festivities, and the ones Robin had spoken too really enjoyed the day and would be back again next year, as one competitor stated “As it was a cracking event again this year, everything ran really smoothly and you created a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere; I will definitely be back next year along with the team members”.
