Only 1 person turned up for the competition on the day which was a big disappointment for both Margo and Iona who were hoping for a bigger turn out by the fisheries regulars to support the charity.
Many thanks to John Airlie for his good efforts in both entering the spirit of things by going solo and raising some good sponsorship for WaterAid. John also caught 9 fish on the day.

Only 3 people turned up for the competition on the day which was a big disappointment for the Loch Fad management.

There was only 4 competitors taking part in the event, again a big disapointment for both the organisors WaterAid and the fishery manager.

Finals Event Report
The final was held at Allandale Tarn on Saturday 8 November 2008. The weather was just ideal for fishing, good cloud cover, and slight breeze with the occasional gust and light drizzle which did not put the competitors or the fish off.
The final was fished to Allandale Tarn Fishery Rules for the day and each competitor started off on their respective pegs and after catching two fish at their peg had to move on 6 pegs clockwise so that they can start fishing again. The format for the day was a 5 fish bag limit with catch and release there after. The competitors started off at and finished at with a stop at for fantastic lunch which Margo Allan had laid on.

Heaviest fish on the day was a cracking 4lb Rainbow by Robin Lambert who won a bottle of Grants Whisky.
This years Challenge Cup raised £793.75 for WaterAid.
